Railway in Village
Fairbourne
Fairbourne is a small village situated
one mile south of Barmouth (across the Mawddach estuary)
in the Welsh county of Gwynedd. The village is well placed
for access to North/Mid Wales. The sandy beach is two miles long
with a miniature steam railway running from the centre of the
village along the peninsula to a small ferry which takes foot passengers
across the estuary to Barmouth. The area boasts a number of adventurous
activities including horse riding, quad biking, dry slope skiing and
canoeing together with many tourist attractions. There is also
a small 9 hole golf course. Branches of main chain supermarkets are
situated in Barmouth and Dolgellau.

The Accommodation - Fairlawns
Fairlawns sleeps
6 (maximum of 4 adults) + baby in cot and has three bedrooms The bungalow has a lounge, dinning room, kitchen
and bathroom. Storage heating is available at an extra
charge. Colour TV and video, microwave, shower/ bath are available.
We are members of North Wales Tourism. Bookings from all male
or female parties are not normally accepted except for families.

Pets are not accepted and the property is non smoking.
Fairbourne
The bungalow is only a short walk from
the shops and beach. The area is well covered by public transport
with regular bus and rail services. Fairbourne is ideally
placed for visiting the Little Trains of Wales. For more information
visit the Fairbourne
and Barmouth Steam Railway which is located in the
village and the worlds first preserved railway the Talyllyn Railway is located
in nearby Tywyn. Further North along the coast at Porthmadog
is the Ffestiniog Railway
(the worlds oldest passenger carrying narrow gauge railway) and
also the Welsh Highland Railway.
Inland is the Bala Lake
Railway running the length of the lake, approximately
4.5 miles.
Barmouth
Just across the estuary is
Barmouth, with its shops, beach and Harbour. Barmouth can be reached by
a small ferry from the point at Fairbourne, by Train across the bridge
or by car via the toll bridge.
